Vintage Eggbeater Hand Crank Drill Wood Handle Cast Iron Manual Drill
Couldn't load pickup availability
Vintage "eggbeater" style manual hand crank drill featuring a heavy cast iron frame, turned wooden main handle, wooden side stabilizing handle, and an original three-jaw chuck currently holding a twist drill bit. This style of drill was widely used by carpenters and woodworkers before the introduction of portable electric drills.
The large drive gear retains traces of its original red japanned finish within the recessed areas, adding to its authentic vintage character. No maker's mark was found in the provided photos, so the manufacturer is unknown. The gears engage and rotate smoothly when the crank is turned.
This drill is being sold in authentic as-found estate condition and would make an excellent addition to a vintage tool collection, rustic workshop display, or restoration project. It shows heavy, honest patina with surface oxidation, finish wear, and age-related wear to the wooden handles. The mechanism would likely benefit from cleaning and lubrication. Please review all photos carefully for the best representation of its condition.
